All the files must go under /usr/local/ssl and you must add
for root and security users the /usr/local/ssl/bin directory to PATH

The object files and header files are needed to compile SSL into
other utilities like lynx and stunnel.

To use the certificate authority or create certificates you only need
the openssl.cnf file and openssl utility in the bin directory.

You can customize the openssl.cnf file to your needs.

OpenSSL uses a .rnd file with random data in your root path. If you
have some error trying to start the openssl utility, create the file
like

# cd    [goes to your root login path]
# cat /etc/* > .rnd

you can have some errors (some files are directories) but it is a starting
point. After running the utility the .rnd file is written with 1024 bytes
of random data.
