atapicd.txt -- ATAPI CD-ROM driver and utilities for Minix 2.0 Alex Ledoux (com40011@pat.itcarlow.ie) released April 1999 This was originally released as an MS-DOS/Windows .zip file, with source files in MS-DOS/Windows format and documentation in a MicroSoft Word file. That release is posted here as atapicd.zip. Users who prefer to work only in a Minix/Unix environment should download atapicd.tar.Z. In this archive the source files and the documentation have all been converted into Unix-style text files. Several illustrations which were part of the original MS-Word documentation have been converted into .gif files, which can be viewed with a web browser. To install: cd /usr/local/src zcat < atapicd.tar.Z | tar xvfp - This will create /usr/local/src/atapicd and expand the archive in that directory. Various files must then be moved and or edited, and a new Minix system compiled. Additionally, two new commands, acdplay, and aexplore can be compiled and installed. compiled by Al Woodhull, 12 March 2000 The documentation was also saved as a web page, in atapcdht.tar.Z. This permits viewing of the documentation in a form similar to that provided in the original version, for viewing with a web browser. This archive expands into usermanual.htm and a directory of additional files, usermanual_fil. It is not suitable for posting on a web site (in my opinion) because of the bloat caused by all the formatting added when a Word document is saved as a web page, but it can easily be viewed as a local file.
