Subject: Mintools - utilities for copying Minix files under DOS

This is to announce a beta version of a set of free utilities for copying
files from Minix hard-drive partitions or floppies under DOS. I am greatly
indebted to Steven Harrold and Claus Tondering, whose code I reused
whenever possible. Defects in the programs are my fault, not theirs.

Features:

- includes versions of "cp", "cat", and "ls".

- can access both logical and primary partitions.

- supports both version 1 and version 2 filesystems.

- Will run in a DOS box under Windows.

- Supports all floppy types supported by Harrold's original Mindos package.

The package includes source code, documentation, and pre-built binaries.
It is still under development: please report bugs, comments, and suggestions
to trmcconn@syr.edu.

I am particularly interested in having someone test the package on a filesystem
for which zonesize != blocksize. I have no way to do this.

To get the package: http://barnyard.syr.edu/software.shtml.
It is called "Mintools".
