The /pub/packages directory is for more-or-less standard software 
packages obtained from other  ftp sites. With some exceptions these 
will not usually contain locally contributed modifications.

The current contents (Feb 1997) are:

These packages have not been tested under Minix 1.7 or later versions; 
some may not have been tested at all under Minix.

The dates on these packages in most cases have little to do with the
date of the included files, they are the dates the files were
transferred to this system.
