less is a paginator similar to "more" but with greater function and flexibility Minix-port: Andrew Costa September 25, 1996 Begin3 Title: less Version: 2.90a (Minix) Entered-date: September 25, 1996 Description: A paginator similar to "more" but with much greater function and flexibility. It is pretty much the standard unix pager these days. End Minix notes: Less 2.90 This version is versatile and well done, about the standard pager on bigger unix systems. It's rather large in memory usage under Minix, as far as I can tell, so if you've a low memory system, i.e. < 1 meg, you may want to stick with 'yap'. Compiling less-290 should work in any 1.7.X Minix system. The defines are pretty sensitive, though - only change them if (a) it doesn't work, or (b) you know what you're doing. The package less290.tar.Z will not compile successfully under Minix-1.7.2 or later - I just found this out :( Grab less290a.tar.Z instead - it works with both 1.7.1 and 1.7.4 and should be okay with the rest of 1.7.X. In other words, I didn't quite know what I was doing :) - Andrew Costa (rev 2002-12-01)
