lynx285p2b Lynx browser v.2.8.5pre2 binary distribution for 32-bit Minix. Claudio Tantignone Jan 2004 posted here 15 Feb 2004 This is a compiled version of lynx 2.8.5pre2. I tested it mainly under Minix 2.0.2 32 bit. I believe that it can be used under Minix 2.0.3/2.0.4 and Minix-VMD without problems. All the code is under development/prerelease. Please check all the README files before attempting any test. The binary has SSL code compiled into it. Note that the lynx source posted here as of 15 Feb 2004 is for an earlier version (lynx 2.8.5dev16). Also note that these archives are compressed with gzip, which is more efficient than the Minix default "compress" command. Gzip for Minix is available from ftp://barnyard.syr.edu/pub/mcconnell/minix/. When gzip is installed the commands gzip, gunzip, and gzcat will be available. You can use these just the way you use the standard commands compress, uncompress, and zcat. Untar the files under /usr/local so the lynx executable will be in /usr/local/bin and the lynx.cfg file and helps under /usr/local/lib lynx -version should show you the following signature. ********* Lynx Version 2.8.5pre.2 (19 Jan 2004) libwww-FM 2.14, SSL-MM 1.4.1, OpenSSL 0.9.6l Built on Minix 386 Jan 22 2004 23:23:43 Copyrights held by the University of Kansas, CERN, and other contributors. For configuration read the lynx.cfg file, at the end I added the configuration keys that I use at home. (This file written by Claudio Tantignone with some additions by ASW)
