[anyone want to check this out?]
From: fdc@watsun.cc.columbia.edu (Frank da Cruz) Newsgroups: comp.os.minix Subject: Announce: C-Kermit 7.0 Date: 9 Jan 2000 23:37:40 GMT Version 7.0 of C-Kermit communications software was announced a few days ago. You can find it here: http://www.columbia.edu/kermit/ckermit.html As yet, I haven't heard about it being tried on any version of Minix. For those who haven't seen it in a while (or at all), it's become a rather large program, and so obviously will not build on Original Minix. However, in recent years, people have built it successfully on various platforms and Minix versions, e.g.: Macintosh m68k, Minix 1.5.10 Atari ST, Minix ST 1.5.10.3 Commodore Amigia, Minix 1.5.10 PC with Minix/386 1.5 and 2.0 So there's hope. Anybody who would like to try a Minix build, please let me know so we can add it to the archive. There's also a brand-new "mini Kermit" that's very small and portable, called G-Kermit: http://www.columbia.edu/kermit/gkermit.html It should be buildable on any version of Minix at all, even 1.0. Again, anybody who would like to make a Minix binary for it, please contact me. Thanks! - Frank -- end of forwarded message --
